Springboard provides extra support to people to enable them to enter mainstream volunteering. This could be through one-to-one advice sessions, liaising with voluntary organisations, and pre-volunteering and personal development training courses.

People with extra support needs can find it hard to access volunteering without dedicated support. This means that they miss out on the benefits volunteering can bring, and voluntary groups and their clients miss out on the commitment and skills these people could offer them as volunteers.

More disabled people, and those with health and support needs, will be able to improve their well-being, skills and work experience through volunteering. Voluntary organisations, their users, and the wider community will also benefit through the time and commitment given by these volunteers.
