with a late drop out through injury and 2 hours left before the registration closing a rash decision was made to drag myself back into the world of 'proper' exercise and training. The charity I work for supports both homeless people and ex-offenders get back on their feet with a wide range of targeted services - so spending a few hours a week on mine in preparation for the Royal Parks Half Marathon seems like a small price to pay to help raise the cash we need just to keep our doors open and keep going. 2nd week of training and jeepers it hurts already - but I am reminded of what an old swimming coach used to say to me..."crack on - it's only pain...!"
