Team Fundraisers
StartaFresh is a mentoring and befriending group that supports adults who feel vulnerable, disadvantaged or socially isolated in our community.
We support people from Stamford, Bourne and surrounding villages. We currently have 46 members who have access to the project. We receive referrals from Stamford Resource centre, the job centre, GPs, social workers and various other sources. Individuals can also self-refer. StartaFresh is about meeting people where they are at and supporting them to where they want to be. We provide a safe place and a community, where individuals can feel “they belong”. For some of our members, group sessions are the only social contact they have all week.
This year 9 of our members are taking part in the Santa fun Run at Burghley park to raise money for StartaFresh…and this is where you could help. If you would like to either sponsor the team or join us running or walking the course. Some members need and like support in achieving goals they have set for themselves.
Some members took part in the run last year and the feeling of achievement they experienced was amazing. It was wonderful to see such positive and happy faces, not only did they achieve going round the course 3 times!! but they raised money also! The sense of pride felt was very uplifting for all of us.
That is why this year we want to go bigger and better…we want to encourage and support each member as they take part and If you can help in any way with this we would be extremely grateful.
