Once leading a busy life as 'Infoman' at Glastonbury Festival, things took an unexpected turn 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, evident from my vigorous hand tremor. I had brain surgery that reduced my tremor but I was left virtually blind. My speech became quieter and I realised people were finding it hard to hear and understand me. Speech therapy helped a little but then I was told about Find Your Voice, a singing group aimed at people with neurological and longterm conditions who had similar problems to mine.
Since starting the weekly sessions a year ago, my voice has improved and got stronger. My confidence has grown and the regular contact with the friendly and supportive Find Your Voice leader and volunteers has helped me enormously.
