HIMALAYA TREK May to June 2022 to support children of western Nepal (originally planned for April 2020 but Covid got in the way)
The Story: In one of the remotest and poorest parts of the world parents face a very difficult choice for their 4 year old children:
Stay with the family but with little outlook for the future, or
Receiving education far away from the family and a possible bright future. Those children that left at age 4 for education, have an opportunity to reunite with their families at age 16 when they have finished their secondary education. But only if there is funding available to get them back to their villages.
The children come from very poor and extremely remote villages where no schooling is available. For more details please see below trailer of the award winning documentary "Children of the Snow Land" that follows the children’s journey from a previous year from their school in Kathmandu to their villages in western Nepal.
All donations go exclusively to the children’s journey back to their families, eg domestic flights, camping equipment, food, water, personal trekking gear. It costs around £1000 per child and I hope to raise enough funds with your help to enable 10 children to make the journey, which takes around 6hrs trekking per day for 15 days over passes of 5000+m, showing just how remote these villages are.
I am fully self-funding the trip to trace this year’s graduates on their journey and thereby enable them to renew their bonds with their family and possibly reintegrate into the community. Part of my funding will go towards helping make this happen. .
Please support these youngsters on their journeys and pass on this LINK to anybody you think might want to support this cause.
