In one of the remotest and poorest parts of the world parents face an impossible choice for their 4 year old children:
- Stay with the family but with little outlook for the future, or
- Receiving education far away from the family and a possible bright future.
Those children that left at age 4 for education, have an opportunity to reunite with their families at age 16 when they have finished their secondary education. But only if there is funding available to get them back to their villages.
The children come from very poor and extremely remote villages where no schooling is available. For more details please see below trailer of the award winning documentary "Children of the Snow Land" that follows the children’s journey from a previous year from their school in Kathmandu to their villages in western Nepal.
All donations go exclusively to the children’s journey back to their families, eg domestic flights, camping equipment, food, water, personal trekking gear. It costs £1600 per child and I hope to raise enough funds with your help to enable 4 children to make the journey, which takes 10hrs trekking per day for 15 days (showing just how remote these villages are).
I am self-funding the trip to join this year’s graduates on their journey and thereby enable them to renew their bonds with their family. For example my funds will go towards paying for the guide, cook, porters (all local) who will also look after the children.
I'm training hard for this trek that will lead over 5000+m Himalayan passes, so need to get fit quick!
Please support these youngsters on their journeys and pass on this LINK to anybody you think might want to support this cause.
Have fun and strong legs!
Go brother Go! So proud of you.
Markus's fundraising page will be accepting donations for another 15 days.
