We need to raise £10,000 for the following: To equip each counselling room with a tablet that will enable clients to keep track of changes to their mental health and for counsellors to share online resources with clients. To provide students in our Community College with access to laptops, giving them the opportunity to learn key employability skills, undertake job searches and access a wealth of educational resources.
Why they need our serviceWhile Youth Works' services have evolved and grown over the years, our use of technology has not kept pace! We believe increasing access to IT will improve outcomes for the young people we work with.
Plan and expected resultsEach week we see 98 young people experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing/mental health. Providing access to online resources will enable clients to feel more empowered and encourage them to take ownership in improving their mental health. Last year, our education provision supported 40 young people struggling in mainstream education. Improving student access to IT will increase their chances of gaining employment; increasing skills & access to jobs, training & apprenticeships.
