MK Act is a charity in Milton Keynes which works with over 100 families’ everyday to help them move on from fear and abuse. They have been providing safe emergency accommodation in Milton Keynes for women and their children escaping domestic violence for over 30 years.
* Over 2 victims per week are killed by current or ex-partners.
* 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in the UK will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
We would like to raise enough money from the MK Half Marathon this year to take the children in the refuge to the seaside this summer and also so they can pay for some fun activities this summer.
Last year MK ACT supported 808 survivors of domestic abuse and 765 children.
We would be grateful for any sponsorship for our Half Marathon. We will be running 13 miles each on the 2nd May 2016!
