This group aims to enhance the opportunities available for young people aged 11- 18 from multi-cultural backgrounds in the Suffolk area.
Why they need our serviceTeenagers learn to take pride in their culture and build confidence in a safe supportive environment through attending activities twice a month. Many of the children we work with are at risk of becoming involved in crime, poor health and unemployment. Additionally teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds face more challenges in the areas of confidence and education. Therefore many lack, or are not aware of, opportunities that other teenagers have access to.
Plan and expected resultsTherefore by providing weekly access to a constructive and positive environment the young people will have the chance to build positive relationships outside of their direct social network. They will also get the opportunity to learn new skills and access a wealth of resources. The sessions will provide opportunities to get involved in various different projects which will serve to build their confidence and self-identity.
