Thank you so much for donating to this page. It is a charity very close to our hearts and we have seen first-hand the miracles they can perform.
Back in 2016 Nigel lost one of his oldest and closest friends to cancer. With his passing, he left behind his wife and 4 children all under 7 years old. Home-Start Renfrewshire were instrumental in helping this family cope. Giving them someone to talk to face to face. Someone who would actively help with all the small daily tasks that can seem like such a mountain under these circumstances. Home-start provided friendship, understanding, support and so much more.
Bringing up children is hard. Parents with young children can find it hard to cope for all sorts of reasons, maybe because of their illness or disability, or that of their child, because of post-natal illness or mental health issues, relationship breakdown, bereavement, loneliness, challenging children’s behaviour, multiple birth or multiple young children in the home, housing or financial issues. At Home-Start support is given to any parent who asks for help. Through their home-visiting volunteers they offer a unique service providing practical and emotional support to parents with one or more children under 5.
