Someone within the Eastbourne branch of A Band of Brothers (ABOB) had the excellent idea for fundraising by walking from Seaford to Eastbourne for the summer solstice. We'll be leaving Seaford about midnight on June the 18th, arriving at Beachy Head for sunrise, then carrying on to Eastbourne, covering about 14 miles.
ABOB could be called a charity or an organisation, which it is, but more importantly it's a community of men, primarily supporting young men in making positive changes in their lives but also getting involved in our community in a number of ways.
There are now communities of men getting together and supporting young men in Brighton (origin), Crawley, Eastbourne, Haringey, Oxford and Cornwall. Some men and their partners and kids form other communities are walking too.
I've been involved for two years and have seen changes in myself and others that I would not have guessed. It's truly inspiring what people can do when they get together in honesty and integrity. Check out abandofbrothers.org.uk if you'd like to know more.
Like so many things, this work needs financial support, so if you can help me raise £500, I would be most grateful, we all would. Many thanks.X
