I'm in training for a mile swim in Alton Water in support of SARS, the Suffolk Accident and Rescue Service. It's great to be back in swimming training for the first time in about 45 years!
SARS co-ordinate teams of volunteer doctors and paramedics who respond locally and quickly to emergencies, providing a capability to carry out advanced, life-saving, procedures at the scene. In a rural county such as Suffolk, with long journeys to hospital, this saves lives.
SARS relies on voluntary donation so every donation makes a difference.
The swim is part of the Great East Swim on 18th June 2016.
Many thanks
Tom
