On the 2nd July 2023, I'll be taking part in Ironman UK in Bolton. This is a full distance Ironman Triathlon; a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile cycle, finished off with a 26.2 mile (marathon) run.

At the beginning of April I’d put in 4 months of training, but had not yet competed in a triathlon. I have since completed the Winslow Double Sprint and Outlaw Half Ironman triathlons, and have one month more left of training before the big one on July 2nd. If you'd like to follow my slightly tedious training schedule on Strava, this is where it’s at:

I'm hoping to raise money for Real Change MCR. Real Change MCR is a fund to help people experiencing homelessness pay for practical items that they need to build lives away from the streets. The fund is used by Manchester homelessness organisations and charities who provide long-term support on the journey to independent living. Examples of how the funding can be used include a deposit for a new home, a training course, clothes for a job interview or furnishing a new home. Having lived in Manchester City Center for the last 5 years, this is a cause I felt strongly about fundraising for, especially with the struggles faced by people experiencing homelessness during the COVID pandemic and cost of living squeeze. More examples of the amazing work they do can be found at:

I’ve set a fundraising target of £10 for every mile I’ll need to cover on the day. If I get close to either goal, I’ll be delighted! Every donation (and any encouraging words!) is a massive help and will be much appreciated!
