Hello there!
I essentially grew up with The Proud Trust (formerly LGBT Youth North West). Since attending my first session aged 14, nearly 15 years ago, the organisation and the people within it have had a profoundly positive impact on my life. My experience there as a younger person is the reason I became a youth worker. I'm proud to be Proud Trust staff and I have the great honour of working with the inspirational young people that get involved in the projects the organisation deliver.
I also like cycling. So I thought I might combine my enjoyment of the two with a little fundraising effort. It's going to be challenging but I'm looking forward to it!
So here is the plan....on Sunday 9th July I will peddle power my way from Manchester to Blackpool and it would be grand if you could support me along the way - by means of lovely words and/or kind monetary donations. I will pay the registration fee and travel myself so all the money raised will go directly to supporting LGBT young people through a brilliant, grass roots organisation. Plus I will also be riding an actual bicycle!
Given recent social and political events around the world we're increasingly aware that homophobia, biphobia and transphobia is still rife and affecting the lives of LGBT people. Therefore sponsorship money like this provides essential unrestricted funds for the charity to be able to more readily respond to the needs of the young people it seeks to support.
I'll be fundraising offline and online (although online has the added bonus of claiming gift aid too!) so whether you'd like to give the loose change in your pocket or double figure digits, it is all sincerely appreciated.

Whether you're able to donate or not, THANK YOU for taking the time to read this message and I hope you can share the good work of The Proud Trust with others! =D
