This summer there will be major changes to the tribunal system which will make it harder for victims of discrimination to access justice through the law. You will only have a couple of months to raise the money for the tribunal application fee which will be a couple of hundred pounds. If the case gets forward to a hearing the tribunal will ask for another fee of around £1000. We want to establish a fund for those people with good cases of discrimination who cannot afford the tribunal fees

NREC gets nearly 200 enquiries a year about discrimination. The vast majority of these are from people having problems in the workplace. A tribunal fees fund would mean that strong discrimination cases need not go unchallenged. If people no longer feel that they can get access to justice using the law it will become easier for organisations and individuals perpetrating discrimination to get away with their action and feel that there aren't any consequences if they discriminate.

We wat to raise enough money to support tribunal fees forat least two cases to discrimination. Although the exact fees have not as yet been released we believe that this will be up to £1250 per case. Our fundraising target is £2500
