The project is to update the riverside facilities and the toilets and showers to bring them up to modern standards and including facilities for those with disabilities. This will encourage more young people to become Sea Cadets and benefit from all we have to offer. The upgrade will also allow the premises to be used more as a community facility for canoeing and Duke of Edinburgh Award and local residents meetings.

Upgrading the facilities would enable us to attract more young people many of whom are disadvantaged. Young people with positive activities and role models are much less likely to get into trouble and will become better employees and citizens in the future. Sunbury and Walton Sea Cadets is one of the very best youth groups in the area and gives young people a great start in life.

Increased numbers of young people joining Sunbury and Walton Sea Cadets. An increase in the activities on offer because of the improved facilities. More week end activities for cadets and more use of the facilities by other local community groups.
