Hi,
I am Vicki, I live in Milton Keynes and I am passionate about helping others that are less fortunate that myself.
In my spare time I volunteer for MK Food Bank and more recently I have got involved in helping the homeless in MK too.
Recently I learned about an amazing event that is being organised by MK YMCA, to raise the vital funds that they need to carry on with the fantastic work that they do for vulnerable people in this town. It's called the SleepEasy event, where volunteers sleep rough, so others don't have to.
MK YMCA is the only emergency accommodation provider in Milton Keynes for people aged 16-65. It also recognises the need for young people to secure long term accommodation whilst developing the necessary life skills to achieve independence. It aims to tackle social exclusion through the provision of safe and secure accommodation as well as the delivery of learning, volunteering and social activity programmes.
On Friday 22nd April, myself and other fundraisers will be bedding down in cardboard boxes, on the streets on Central MK with the aim to not only experience the conditions that rough sleepers have to endure every night, but to also gain sponsorship and raise money for MK YMCA.
MK YMCA is hoping to raise £10,000 in total, so whatever you can afford to donate, big or small, please donate, every penny helps and your sponsorship will go towards helping people in crisis.
Thank you in advance. xx
