Competition entered by 142 people, mostly children from the Shirley School, came up with a wealth of ideas about what was important to people of all ages about Chesterton. We are now ready to move on to the next stages: producing an outline design; determining a suitable location and getting any necessary consents for it; and funding it.

To create a greater sense of identity for local people and celebrate the traditions of Chesterton as an ancient settled community.

A permanent addition to the local townscape that will create interest in Chesterton and give pleasure to people every day.
