WALKING CAMINO DE SANTIAGO FOR HORNSEY FOOD BANK
I am walking 120 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago from Muxia via Finisterre to Santiago de Compostela in May 2024. Im hoping that every kilometer I cover will raise at least £20 to support the amazing work of Hornsey Food Bank.
The Food Bank is an independent community enterprise, run by an amazing team of volunteers which provides emergency food and support to our community and campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. It currently offers food support to over 1200 people every single week! In the current cost of living crisis, when so many people are feeling the pinch, the Food Bank is a lifeline to many local people in Haringey where it is based.
The food bank grew out of the mutual aid groups that were set up to help neighbours during the pandemic. It remains an independent, community-based and community-led project and works on the principle that we all need help at some stage in our lives, and we are here – as neighbours helping neighbours – to offer that support. We have recently won charitable status.
Please support me in my project to help the Food Bank! Any donation, large or small, will help me make every step of my 100 kilometres count. Thank you!
Good luck
TWO WEEKS TO GO! I collected my Pilgrim Passport yesterday fromthe office of the Confraternity ofSt James in Blackrfriars. This is where I will get stamps on the Camino recording my progress.
Anne's fundraising page will be accepting donations for another 72 days.
Hope this helps. I'm sure the foodback really appreciates your effort. Good luck on your walk!
