Support for mental health has never been more important. With ever increasing numbers of people experiencing mental health struggles and greater than ever pressure being put on NHS services, it is vital that people are able to access support within the community.
In Swadlincote, we are extremely lucky to have Bank House. They have been supporting the people of Swadlincote for nearly 20 years with their holistic approach and friendly and welcoming centre. Support is provided to people who need help with anything from food and clothing to housing and paying bills. The centre, based in Swadlincote, is a safe haven for anyone who needs a place to talk, to see friendly faces or just have a cuppa. The staff at Bank House work tirelessly to ensure that everyone who comes through their door is made to feel welcome. For some people Bank House is the reason they get up in the morning and the motivation and friendship they need to keep going regardless of the struggles that they are facing.
We are passionate about being able to support this amazing charity and the work that they do, so we will be spending 1 night in January in the woods. We will not be sleeping in tents, we will be open to the elements with nothing but what we bring with us to provide warmth and comfort. We really hope that you can sponsor us and help raise money to support Bank House as they continue to support our community.
Bank House receives no official funding and remains open purely as a result of the generosity of the public. Without this funding, they will be forced to close, and we cannot see this happen.
