Gullivers Land Fun Run 23rd July

Hi , my name is Christine, and I am the Fundraising Officer here at Milton Keynes YMCA On 23rd July I will be part of a staff team of 5 participating in the fun run at Gullivers Land. Homelessness is a growing problem in Milton Keynes and we believe that there are around 200 rough sleepers in the city. At the YMCA we are able to help approximately 350 young people through our 23 bed hostel and 123 flats. In addition to accommodation we also provide a learning and activities programme, which is tailored to meet individual needs , and also to help get them back into employment. There are many reasons for homelessness such as relationship breakdowns,domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and drug and alcohol abuse. I will be the first to agree that not all homeless people need our help, but there are many more that do and go on to become independent contributing members of our society Over the past 2 years our funding has been cut by the Council and from next year we will not receive any. Therefore it is vitally important that we gain support and sponsorship from the local community. Please support us by donating as much or as little as you can.. Thank you
