Why they need our serviceThe Young Parent Project, a Richmond Youth Partnership Charity initiative set up in 2007 which runs weekly groups supporting at risk young parents up to the age of 25 and their babies living in the borough of Richmond. The Young Parents Project aims to develop parenting skills, improve their self-esteem, make positive and healthy choices, protect themselves and their babies, participate as equal members of their communities and achieve their potential.
Plan and expected resultsIncreased awareness, improved confidence and abilities in parenting and life skills. Promote opportunities for young mothers to gain access to further education/training. 20% + of the young parents who attend are supported into education, training and employment. Reduced numbers of families requiring additional support because of the projects early intervention strategy.
