In October 2011 we started a drop-in session for young people aged 10 to 15. The idea was to simply provide a space with access to snacks and refreshments here young people could chat and 'hang out'. On week one no-one turned up. Six weeks later and we have 26 young people! The young people themselves want to learn new craft and activity skills and want to play games such as pinball, Twister, Air hockey as well as doing a wide range of crafts
Why they need our serviceOver the past year there has been a growing concern about anti social behaviour in and around Killingworth centre. Most of the problems arise from the behaviour of young people aged 10 to 14 years. Young people tell us they have 'nowhere to go and nothing to do' . We want to tackle this for the benefit of young people and the wider community.
Plan and expected resultsLess anti social behaviour Improved community relations Young people with a sense of worth Young people learning to work together Improved and new skills Better citizens
