Career WorkOut is a one hour session in which groups of up to 30 students meet and interview five guests from the world of work about their experiences of work.Career WorkOut helps young people work out what different jobs exist locally and which jobs might suit them; also work out how to speak and listen effectively to adults they don't know. Work guests also benefit by doing something useful for the community and feeling personally valued.In 2020-21, 2500 students met and interviewed 500 work guests from 200 companies in Virtual Career WorkOut sessions.Over the previous five years, 15,000 students met and interviewed 2500 work guests from 500 companies.

<div>Kincardineshire District Scout Council are looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager who can enhance our presence and build strong online communities through our various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram (for example, not necessarily an exclusive list).&nbsp; Currently we have a website (https://www.kincardineshirescouts.org.uk) and a private Facebook Group. &nbsp;<br><br></div><div>We are seeking an individual or individuals that will be responsible for developing and administering social media content that is designed to be engaging and create an interactive relationship between the public, our members, and our extended Scout community.&nbsp; You will also be required to collect and review social media data to help us develop more effective campaigns so that we can engage with the public and our local community in an interactive and conversational way.<br><br></div><div>We want to provide updates on our successes and for sharing links of great media coverage. We want people - our members and the public - to be able catch up on fun news and gossip. Our messages should be light-hearted in manner and presented in an upbeat and positive tone. We are a hub for local projects providing financial, management and co-ordination support for collaborative activities for the benefit of the community. We are a non-political organisation that reaches out and works with all religious affiliations and organisational types.      During Covid19 we are actively supporting projects that directly aid the community with health, home and hunger for all ages and ethnicities. London’s Community Kitchen (LCK) Zero Waste, Zero Hunger, receives rescued food from local supermarkets e.g. Morrison’s, The Felix Project retailers, business and individuals that would otherwise be wasted. LCK has been working with its partners in Harrow, and other neighbouring boroughs to receive and redistribute food supplies to the community without stigmatising the beneficiaries. The work of LCK has escalated exponentially due to the pandemic and it now finds itself not only delivering food in the borough but supporting food insecure residents and their families. LCK is working on a sustainable model to serve the community, not just by feeding but by providing education so that those trapped in food poverty can access a life where they can come out of food deprivation.

ART has supported 100% of its vulnerable students (including wounded and injured service personnel) and o1250 vulnerable households during COVID19, and will continue to assist individuals and families most in need.Traditionally ART has a history of success, supporting people with mental health issues and/or physical/ sensory/ learning disabilities; and wounded and injured service personnel, but during the pandemic we have further extended support to low income families and vulnerable groups such as young carers through a new initiative called 'Stay at home, Grow your own'.ART has also put all its courses online so anyone can join in and learn while in lockdown, or shielding. Courses focus on supporting those who need help to improve their mental and physical health, well-being and reduce social isolation. At least 85% of our participants go on to get involved in community volunteering activities, get jobs, enter further education and/or do more accredited training.Why the community needs usDuring COVID19 ART has worked in partnership with Local Authorities, Volunteer Groups and worked with Public Health Teams to address the needs of individuals and families who are low income, isolated, vulnerable and most at risk.We have co-ordinated volunteers to deliver free Grow Your Own packs, seeds and compost, to households who need a bit of extra help during this difficult time. ART continues to support people growing their own to help with mental health, food security, promote being more active outdoors, and we even get people living in flats growing with windowsill kits!Our impact on the communityThis programme of support sees participants improve their physical activity, mental health and well-being; gain confidence; and improves self-esteem. ART is supporting the increasing numbers of people who are suffering increased mental health issues or no longer have employment because of the impact of COVID19 in their job security. We are helping people to engage and learn new skills that will support them much longer term.Supporting ART will make a huge difference to a wide range of vulnerable people across Essex - thank you in advance for supporting us!
