Why the community needs us
Due to the complex needs of some Children and Young People, the specialist equipment used can be very expensive and regularly needs replacing. Funds raised enable the school to provide bespoke equipment and suitably adapted activities, needed transport to access events and the community and valuable support to parents and careers.
Our impact on the community
People with disabilities face particular challenges developing confidence, self-belief, self-worth, communication and independence. Many do not reach their potential in life. Most are very able but are restricted by low aspiration and lack of opportunity, which often impacts on wellbeing, the ability to live a full life and make a valuable contribution to society.
Children and Young People with special needs aged from 2.5 to 19 have access to facilities that are tailored to their needs.
Specialist equipment purchased provides learning opportunities; helps develop new skills, creating independence, creativity and motivation.
