Supporting the health and wellbeing of local people living with Multiple Sclerosis
The Centre exists to provide a range of therapy treatments, guidance and support to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.
Our aims are to:
- improve the quality of life of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis,
- enable improved disease system management,
- encourage self-help
- promote a positive attitude.
Why the community needs us
Multiple Sclerosis is an incurable and unpredictable disease that affects the Central Nervous System. Like all chronic illnesses, the problems are both physical and emotional.
This usually includes providing therapies at our specialist Centre or via our online classes. This includes core therapies such as physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, footcare and counselling as well as a range of complementary therapies. These therapies are aimed at managing the physical symptoms of the illness and dealing with the emotional difficulties that come with it, therefore enabling people with MS to live more positive and independent lives. Our busy communal area gives people a chance to come together and support each other.
During Covid
During Covid we have a range of remote support with three main aims:
- keep people as active as possible
- improve mental health
- reduce loneliness and isolation Find out more here:

The Centre currently supports over 500 people with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as their families and carers, providing approximately nearly 11,000 treatments and therapies in a 'normal' year. Things are currently very different but our goal remains the same: helping people affected by MS to enjoy a better quality of life. Local people with MS are living more positive and independent lives and feel able to remain in work for longer. They also have improved mobility and feel more able to manage their fatigue and other symptoms.
