
Bassetlaw Mind exists to provide services to people who have had or are experiencing Mental Health issues and to support their families and close others within the Bassetlaw area, we seek to empower people to lead a full life as part of their community. To achieve this Bassetlaw Mind provides a number of services including social and support groups, a befriending scheme / mentorship service, support services for carers, volunteering opportunities and an information sign posting for the public.
Why the community needs usBassetlaw Mind provides individuals with information which increases Mental Health awareness. We provide peer support and user led groups, increase opportunities for individuals to maintain their independence, make lifestyle choices and control their recovery process. We increase community participation and social networking by offering individuals a wide variety of opportunities and activities, especially for people who would not usually engage within their community.
Our impact on the communityTo increase self-esteem, confidence, quality of life and wellbeing. Volunteers will be offered a wide variety of volunteering opportunities. To increase individuals control and choice over their lives and health care. To reduce the risk of hospitalisation. We promote independance and empower services users to make more effective decisions in their life. To increase involvment in the community and provent isolation.
