Ealing Carers Service
Ealing Carers Service is a very unique venture for Carers Trust Thames. We run various activities and advice sessions specifically aimed at Carers and Young Carers aged 5-18.
Our approach aims to assist Carers by equipping them with the information and skills they may need in their caring role. We also provide social activities, for which the impact is immeasurable.
Why they need our service Ealing Carers Service provides information, advice and signposting for unpaid carers across Ealing. Activites include free zumba and yoga, holistic therapies, coffee mornings, counselling as well as advice and information.
Our Service only began in April 2017, and as such any support we receive is invaluable. It will help us achieve our aim of becoming the primary hub of information for carers in the borough.
Plan and expected results We have started our Carers database almost from scratch. As such outreach - and developing varied activities in order to reach a wide range of carers - is hugely important. We hope to reach as many Carers and Young Carers in the borough.
There are also many 'hidden Carers'; for instance, it is believed that there is at least one Young Carer in every classroom. By working with other local services we hope to 'find' these Carers, and make them aware of all the support they could receive.
