Working together for a better quality of life for people with disabilities and health problems. We help individuals to shape their own solutions for a better quality of life by providing appropriate and accessible health and social care services. We assist in the development of other voluntary and community organizations, particularly through enabling volunteering.

Why the community needs us

People with disabilities and long term health conditions and their carers are helped to shape their own solutions for a better quality of life by providing appropriate and accessible health and social care services. We also help benefit people who want to volunteer and contribute to their local communities by linking them up with a range of local community organisations. We help approximately 16,000 people per year from Plymouth and the surrounding area.

Our impact on the community

In 2015/16: 2,845 opportunities were matched with 1,119 local volunteers. 6,000 people used DIAC and Advice Plymouth. 2000 people were helped by Sensory Solutions with info & advice. 82 members with learning disabilities attended Better Futures 4,108 times over the year. 184 people with long term health conditions attended our LCSM course. 607 people with learning disabilities and/or mental health engaged with our Active for All services. 6,000 carers were supported in a variety of ways.
