The 50 Mile Ultra starts at Llangynidr in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and finishes deep in the heart of the Black Mountains. This long-distance challenge is one that will fulfil and challenge me, however with the well-stocked checkpoints and an amazing support team, I am confident I will be well looked after for the duration of the event. We are going to be taking on some of the most beautiful peaks of the Welsh mountains. We will be covering Pen y Fan via Fan y Big and Cribin- (Pen y Fan the highest point in South Wales) heading over Corn Du and the Storey Arms before heading back up to Graig Fan Du and dropping down to Pontsticill Reservoir and back up to Waun Rhydd. We will then join the Beacons way path heading towards Llangynidr and Mynydd Llangorse, The Dragons Back and Waun Fach in the Black Mountains before our descent to the finish where we celebrate our success. I will be accompanied on the run by my good running friend Teej and my partner Chris who will be on hand at every check point to look after me. Taking part in an Ultra is no mean feat; there will be a total elevation of 11,000ft but the training leading up to the event in the mountains and the countryside of Wales is well worth all the effort.

As a woman experiencing the menopause for more than 7 years, running supports my physical and mental well-being and as FTWW has been a constant source of support, what better charity would benefit. FTWW receives very little income from grant funding so rely 100% on volunteers to lobby to Welsh Government to keep Women's health top of the political agenda. They have been making fantastic inroads into making Menopause education and health care top of the agenda which everyone will benefit from.

Please dig deep to support Fair Treatment for Women in Wales as you will be supporting every woman in your family or social circle to receive the menopause support and health care they deserve
