Hi, my name is Chris, and I work for The Light Group. I’m based in Halifax and across West Yorkshire, but our work stretches far beyond one location. Every single week, we help someone move into supported living or rehab — giving them a genuine opportunity for recovery, stability, and hope. This isn’t simply a job; it’s my calling.
Each day, I walk alongside people facing homelessness, addiction, and deep crisis. We support people off the streets and into emergency accommodation. We help them access rehab and supported housing. Most importantly, we stay with them — through setbacks, through recovery, and through the long process of rebuilding their lives.
Across Halifax and West Yorkshire, our team regularly provides food, hot drinks, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, and essential supplies. We respond in moments of urgent need. We make sure people are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
From 7–10 April 2026, members of The Light Group community will walk St Cuthbert’s Way together to raise funds for this vital work.
This walk is more than a fundraiser. It is a visible expression of solidarity and hope. It reflects our shared commitment to compassion, perseverance, and community. Every pound raised will directly support our outreach — funding emergency accommodation, meals, essential supplies, and placements into rehab and supported living.
I have seen people move from sleeping rough to living with dignity. I have seen addiction replaced with hope, families restored, and futures rebuilt. These transformations happen because people choose to care.
If you are able to support this fundraiser, you are not just donating — you are standing with our community and helping someone take their next step toward a better life.
