I am running London Marathon 2025 and raising money for Popham Kidney Support (PKS). PKS is a charity based in Swansea that supports all affected by kidney disease in Wales. Their aims are to improve their emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing and improve their knowledge through education. They also campaign for better services. Their flagship service is their Peer Support Service where they train patients to become peer mentors to give advice to others like them. There is no cure for chronic Kidney disease, the only treatment is a kidney transplant or dialysis. Dialysis treatment is on average 3 to 6 hours 3 times a week. While I will be running London marathon someone will be dialysing and while the marathon is just a one-day event, dialysis is a lifetime event! Someone receiving support from PKS say, ‘I don’t feel alone – someone understands what I am going through’! Help me, support the charity support children, youths, and adults with kidney disease in Wales and their families to lead a better quality of life.
