YEAH - WE DID IT!!!
Monday 27th April seemed like a perfect weather day for our Marathon Walk - perhaps spurred on by the London Marathon. Set off at 07:00 - arrived back home at 17:30. Very sore legs put feeling very proud of our achievement. Pictures show Wokingham Town Hall clock as we set off, stretching in Thames Valley Park, Google Map of halfway point and the final step count showing 26.2 miles walked.
Spurred on by all the wonderful donations and comments from friends, family and the wider Link Community.
THANK YOU
Pam & Chris
In early May, Chris & I will Walk a Marathon from Wokingham along the Thames Path to Lower Shiplake and back, to raise money for The Link Visiting Scheme in Wokingham.
The Link is an award-winning charity designed to bring connection and community to older people and volunteers in the Wokingham area. Offering a mix of weekly and monthly activities to suit all tastes - community lunches, quizzes, nature walks, crafts, fitness classes and so much more.
Chris & I have been volunteers with The Link since early 2020, visiting people in their homes, chauffeuring them to events, delivering jigsaws and getting involved with other community events.
Your donation, however small, will go a long way to keep all these activities going and also help keep myself and Chris motivated to keep putting one foot in front of the other along our 26.2 mile walk. Thank you!
