After the experience and pain gained in the Ring of Fire events over the last 2 years, I have decided to take on the challenge, and pain again for 2026.

This time it is the 10th year of Ring of Fire and therefore to up the ante further there are multiple events planned which will combine to either damage or reward me. Only time will tell!!

Our first ride known as ‘Big ROF’ will take place in May covering 170 miles in Northern France over 1.5 days, visiting historical sites relating to the 2nd world war. For context this includes a Day 1 of 105 miles which will be my furthest mileage in a day that I have ever done so bring on the saddle sores.

There is also a smaller “Wheels of Fire” event planned including children from the rugby club, spreading the love for a challenge and cycling further and recruiting future ROF members as a result.

Finally the “small ROF” event will take place in September covering Southern France and potentially a dip into Spain. This means 5 days of saddle sores and mileage that I don’t yet want to think about so more details will follow.

4Ed Campaign – Supporting families affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), this campaign provides financial assistance and essential resources to improve quality of life for those living with the condition.
