At 9am on Thursday 17 July*, Hatherop Primary School dad Michael Birnie will be setting off on a gruelling 24-hour solo bike ride to raise money for the Big Build.

But how many miles will he cover? Enter our Guess the Distance Competition for your chance to win a prize while supporting a very worthy local cause!

How it works:

  • Each entry costs £2 and you can make as many guesses as you like.

  • Click the green "Donate now" button and enter the total amount (in multiples of £2). For regulatory reasons, please do not claim Gift Aid.

  • In the comments field, enter your guess or guesses in miles.

  • So that we know how to contact you, please provide an email address or phone number in the comments field below your guesses. If you do not want to leave your contact details, you can email Mike directly at michaelabirnie@hotmail.com, stating clearly the name as it appears next to the donation.

  • Michael's total distance will be announced - and the winners notified - following the end of the cycle on Friday 18 July.

  • Lynwoods hamper worth £80

  • £20 voucher to spend at any Lynwoods café
