The Parent House is celebrating 25 years of supporting Islington families! on Saturday March the 15th 2025, 25 parents, and children, will walk 2.5k to raise funds to keep our little house with a big heart running. Please donate if you can. Every pound makes a difference to children and families.

Islington has one of the highest child poverty rates in the country. This means our children are sometimes cold in winter, sometimes hungry and often feel left out of the world they see around them. Parents suffer when they see their children suffer. They make sacrifices so that their children can thrive. Poverty negatively effects the life chances of thousands of families in Islington.

At The Parent House we face these issues head on by providing food and clothing support when parents are in most need, and by providing opportunities for connection, skills development and wellbeing support when they have had their basic needs met. This way we support parents to fulfil their goals and aims, build their confidence and provide for their families. At the heart of our work is a focus on listening, to parents to help them find solutions and pathways.

We are walking in March 2025 because we focus on wellbeing, and know that a short walk everyday (in any weather) is good for mental health and that outdoor play is essential for children. So we are taking to the streets of Islington. Walking with our friends and family, to raise money to give back to an organisation that listens to parents.

We believe that when Parents thrive children thrive.
