A Historic Journey with a Life-Changing Purpose
We are undertaking St Cuthbert’s Way, a 100km (62.5 mile) pilgrimage from Melrose to Holy Island (Lindisfarne), raising vital funds to support the life-transforming work of The Light Group.
Recognised as one of Scotland’s Great Trails, St Cuthbert’s Way is one of Britain’s most beautiful and meaningful long-distance routes. It follows the path of St Cuthbert, weaving together stunning landscapes, deep history, and moments of reflection—rolling hills, quiet rivers, open moorland, and finally the unforgettable crossing of the tidal causeway to Holy Island.
This pilgrimage is more than a walk. It is a practical act of compassion. Funds raised will directly support people experiencing homelessness and addiction, helping them take real steps toward recovery and stability. Through The Light Group, donations will help provide outreach support, pathways into rehab, emergency provision, mentoring, and long-term help into housing and renewed independence.
For many, homelessness and addiction can feel like an endless road with no clear destination. This walk symbolises something different: that change is possible, journeys can be redirected, and lives can be rebuilt—step by step.
Every mile walked represents solidarity with those who are struggling, and every donation helps turn hope into action. By supporting this pilgrimage, you are helping people move from the streets into safety, from addiction into recovery, and from isolation into community.
Thank you for being part of a journey that doesn’t just cross borders—but helps change lives.
