I'm taking on the first two days of The Light Group's Manchester to Leeds Canal Walk, covering 32 miles over two days, to raise awareness of homelessness and vital funds to support people facing homelessness, poverty, addiction, isolation, and poor mental health.
Day 1 takes me from Manchester to Littleborough (around 15 miles), following the Rochdale Canal through the city's industrial heritage before reaching the beautiful countryside.
Day 2 is the toughest part of the challenge, walking 17 miles from Littleborough to Sowerby Bridge across the Pennines. It's a physically demanding route, but it reflects the difficult journeys that many people experiencing homelessness face every day.
Every pound raised will help The Light Group continue providing practical and life-changing support through Homeless Pastors, street outreach, recovery groups, food provision, and community support. The charity walks alongside people in crisis, offering hope, dignity, and opportunities to rebuild their lives.
Please support me if you can. Your donation will help raise awareness of homelessness and ensure The Light Group can continue reaching those who need it most.
Thank you for your generosity and encouragement—it really does make a difference.
