So, this is a twin event for me. In fact, thinking about it... far more than that. See below for what I'm up to... and see further below for why the devil I'm doing it!!
Firstly:
The lovely people at Cleveland Pools have set me a challenge. An Advent Calendar packed full of different mini challenges to be completed by the end of January. I can't say what they are, but they're all going to be based around themes relating to the pools, so I suspect a fair amount of swimming will be involved.
Secondly:
As part of a separate 'Frostbite Challenge' I'm pledging to swim in a river, lake or the sea on average 3 times a month between 1st November and 28th February - no wetsuit... just neoprene boots, gloves, and hat.
Why??:
I'm doing it all to raise funds for Cleveland Pools - this is a Lido - not just any Lido, but the oldest in the UK; originally from 1815. It's a beautiful building and pools, that have fallen into disrepair. With your help, we can raise enough funds to make this wonderful facility, and piece of national heritage available to all again in 2022.
Please give generously - it's such a worthwhile project.
