Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to care for this special place, yet our current facilities are stretched to their limits. To continue nurturing both our landscape and our community, we need room to grow.
We are seeking your support to create a space to grow - a modern, multipurpose glasshouse designed to inspire community pride, uplift our team of staff and volunteers and provide a better welcome for our visitors.
Our existing facilities, built for far fewer people, no longer meet the needs of our expanding team of staff and volunteers. By investing in this project, you will help us create a new glasshouse that brings people together. Our new glasshouse will provide;
A beautiful, revitalised feature at the garden entrance, enhancing pride and sense of place
A welcoming communal space where volunteers can gather, connect, and recharge.
A safe, adaptable propagation area that supports high‑quality horticultural work behind the scenes
A flexible meeting space for community groups, workshops, and garden events
Our new glasshouse will have a modern heating system for the winter months, external blinds and automatic ventilation for the summer. This will keep our volunteers, who are in the garden from February to December, comfortable all year round.
We need your help to create this beautiful building - one pane of glass at a time. There are 4,000 windows in our glasshouse, and you can be part of this ambitious project by purchasing a pane of glass at £25 to help us grow our brighter future here at Helmsley Walled Garden.
