In 2021/22 Gul is embarking on its most ambitious fundraising project to date, to bring POWER to Riverside. After 12 years at the site, doing the best we can with our Gas stoves and Solar Panels Gul needs to expand further to offer a better service to its users.
The plan is a simple one, over the next year Gul is seeking to raise £40,000 to shift its offices to its primary delivery site (Riverside) to reduce its overheads and improve the efficiency of the service it offers.
BUT YOU SHOULD BE INVESTING IN YOUR SERVICE, NOT IN ADMIN... You're right and that is why this project is so valuable, by moving our offices to Riverside, the fundraisers, senior manager and administrators who are currently tied to the Bustard (because it has power, to run computers etc) will be able to take on the administration at our busy yard, freeing up staff to work more closely with beneficiaries, which is what they really want to be doing.

So what do we need?
  • Mains Power to the site, Sadly Gul's Solar panels will just not cut it for the energy demands of a modern office or lighting for our arenas/ stables (£20,000)
  • A fully equipped office large enough for 4 people with a quiet meeting room to host remote tuition sessions, youth workers and any other hosting type functions. (£15,000)
  • Improvements to the car parking and reception areas (£5,000)
  • If we are successful enough, improvements to Gul's riding arena. ( Stretch Goal, up to £50k)

So how do we get there-
the project is split into 3 phases
  • Infrastructure, we need to lay the foundations for the new project, this means fundraising, applying for planning consent (this is already granted) and bringing mains power and utilities to the site.
  • Construction, in this phase Gul will purchase the materials needed, construct the new buildings, connect the existing buildings up to the grid and make any adjustments to the drive and carparking.
  • Implementation: this means moving in, shifting the office and personnel to new buildings and repurposing the existing spaces to make them better for users.
