On October 16th, StreetlightUK staff, volunteers, family and friends will walk from North London (N9OPD) to South London (SW21RW) overnight in a fundraising campaign to raise money to provide specialist support to women in the sex industry. The walk will begin at 10:00 pm and finish at 4:00 am.
Women involved in prostitution in the UK have the highest murder rate compared to women in any other industry, and at least 75% of women involved in prostitution have been physically assaulted. At StreetlightUK, we aim to not only raise awareness about these horrifying statistics but also to offer practical and emotional support and empower women to reclaim their lives.
This walk is an opportunity to come together and provide hope that women do not have to go through their journeys alone. All donations will go directly to our efforts to reduce the risk and impact of violence against women and girls and the associated harms of sexual exploitation, bettering the lives of the most vulnerable women.
