The 2.6 Challenge launches on Sunday 26th April - a date that still means so much to the thousands of people counting down to what was meant to be London Marathon Day.
From 26th April, the Sustainable Merton team will be joining fundraisers across the UK taking on challenges based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 to Save the UK’s Charities. This could be anything from running 2.6 miles to baking 26 cupcakes... We're getting creative!
Each challenge is being taken on individually, following social distancing guidelines, but we're very much doing this as a TEAM, so all donations will be added together through this joint fundraising page.
🏆 Diana is... cycling 26 miles in 6 days
🏆 Rachael is... baking 26 cupcakes/cookies and walking 26,000 steps in 2 days

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
YOU can help Sustainable Merton by making a donation to support the vital work we are doing to set up Merton's Community Fridge as part of the borough's food poverty COVID-19 crisis response. We want to stop good food from going to waste and deliver it to those who need it most. Every donation made will go directly towards helping the Merton community during these challenging times and beyond.
About the 2.6 Challenge
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events, such as the 2020 Virgin London Marathon, due to take place on Sunday 26th April.
In response, the organisers have come together to create a new campaign, the 2.6 Challenge, to raise vital funds to help save the UK’s charities.
Go Hayley and Amy!
