DESPITE A TERMINAL CANCER DIAGNOSIS MANDY TAYLOR CONTINUES TO AMAZE AND INSPIRE AND NOW SHE WANTS EVERYONE TO #BEMOREMANDY

Mandy Taylor, has been a volunteer since 2004 and has helped raise more than £2 million for good causes across Huddersfield and beyond. In the wake of receiving the news of her terminal cancer diagnosis, in true Mandy style, she has launched a new campaign #BeMoreMandy which aims to encourage people to be…more like Mandy!

Mandy has also partnered with the One Community Foundation to set up the #BeMoreMandy Fund, the money raised will support underprivileged children to young people to create memories. Inspired by a previous fundraising effort Mandy said "I want young people to have the chance to make memories that they maybe wouldn't have the chance to without the support of the fund, I previously supported an appeal to take a group of children for a day trip to the seaside, none of the children had ever seen the beach before, and it made a lasting impression on me".
The Be More Mandy Fund set up with One Community is a great opportunity for people to show their support for Mandy and collectively support their community, by donating to the fund either as an individual, a business or by setting yourself a charity challenge to raise money for the fund.
The idea of the campaign is to inspire people to do something for their community and to pass it on by nominating someone else to take part, like with the Ice Bucket Challenge – and for it to be kept going. The #BeMoreMandy campaign has launched on social media, and we want people to post photographs or, ideally if they are comfortable with it, a video saying what they are going to do and why.

Mandy says “I want to pass the baton on. I want people to be inspired to be more Mandy whether that’s for one day or for a lifetime. This could be an amazing legacy.”

One community has been so inspired by Mandy's story that we have pledged £10,000 to match fund pound for pound every donation raised for Mandy's fund, doubling the impact of your donation.
