Developing Skills for Life in young people!

To develop our members physically, mentally and spiritually, in a uniformed organisation through exciting and adventurouse activity, carried out in a team enviroment. The group also carry out a lot of community related events to promote a feeling of wellbeing in it's members and surrounding villages. Why the community needs us
1st Burnmoor members do lots of community work, including Santa's sleigh through the streets, social evenings & events, fêtes, barbeques, coffee mornings and host birthday parties and other kids club activities. They support and parade Armistice Day and encourage members to help other children and OAPS. They have sang to residential homes and supported local business's, who in turn have supported them. We have raised funds for other charities as well as our own. We are the communities friend!

Our impact on the community
The major benefit is to the Young people in its membership, who for many years have grown into respected members of society, and still remain loyal to the group. We have helped kids with various backgrounds, some who need encouragment to forward there development,and who have acheived greater things. The scout group have also been a catalyst in bringing the best out of its local people, which has helped encourage others. The group has shown individual kids how good it feels to help others.

Volunteers needed

From helping with the upkeep of our hall, helping raise funds, getting involved with the young people as a helper or becoming a leader.
