About the appeal

2022 will be the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth. Everyone across the UK is being invited to plant trees from October 2021, when the tree planting season begins, through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022. This will create the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC).

At our own Jubilee Campsite we plan to plant a lot of trees during the next 12 months. We have plans with Lloyds Bank and The Woodland Trust to plant 800 sapling trees in October.

What we are asking people to consider “Buying a tree for Jubilee to mark the Jubilee”, as part of our vision for the site is to have the feeling of going to woodlands and camping or doing an activity. As we all know, trees take a long time to grow, so as well as planting the saplings we are looking for Groups to support the work at the campsite by purchasing a mature tree to speed up the work at the site and having a plaque with their Groups name to mark and the Queen Jubilee.

To support a whole tree there is a cost per tree will be £250

The scheme to mark the Queens Jubilee Green Canopy has a map and from October you will be able to add your Jubilee tree to the map.
