Silver Screenings are weekly classic movies for older audiences from East Belfast and beyond - the perfect opportunity for social interaction, reminiscence and a trip down movie memory lane with £4 tickets including tea/coffee. Since June 2017, we have provided 645 FREE taxis journeys to and from the Strand Arts Centre for 20 nursing homes and community groups thanks to the support of Specsavers Connswater and Arts & Business NI, but we need your support for the project to continue.

How the funding will be spent
We cannot currently meet the demand for free taxis. Please make a donation and help us to provide weekly taxis for those groups wishing to come to the Strand Arts Centre for whom the cost of transport would mean they would not otherwise be able to attend. With your support we can pay for an extra 240 visits during the year for an additional 10 groups.

How this will benefit the community
Carers from the nursing homes have reported back on how the Silver Screenings is the highlight of the week for their residents - and adds to their own personal job satisfaction. "Many of our tenants would frequent the cinema in their youth and this is a lovely opportunity to relive this experience… for many it's a rare opportunity to go out.
