Aurora Project offers Peer Mentors with lived experience to individuals in or about to have treatment for substance and alcohol use within the boroughs of Lambeth & Wandsworth. Why the community needs usIncreased participation in communities. Reduced strain on NHS and Police services. Improved physical and mental health of people with addictions. Also supporting volunteers through recovery, higher education/training and employment.
Our impact on the communityOn average we support over 800 people in a year. This can be from helping with housing/benefits. 121 support, accompanying to difficult appointments such as DWP, Medicals, Court, Detox/ Rehab. With the correct support our clients often then become volunteers, who then thrive to go onto paid employment/ and or higher education.
