Our aim: to improve the lives of LGBT people who live, work or socialise in Bradford
Our Equalities work: through representation with health, education leisure, community and social care services, we ensure that local services are accessible to, and meet the needs of LGBT people. We deliver training to individuals, and organisations. We raise awareness of the issues facing LGBT people and present our community as a positive force within society. We create a safe space in our community centre for LGBT people to meet, socialise and learn.
Why the community needs usEquity Partnership takes a community development approach to the delivery of services. Our current priority groups are older and younger LGBT people, Trans people and black and minority ethnic LGBT people. We nurture the skills and resourcefulness of LGBT people to deliver groups, and create networks to create a strong and vibrant community. Through our work, the voices of LGBT people are heard where it matters - the NHS, police and local authority all consult with communities through us.
Our impact on the communityEquity Partnership has a membership of over 800 people who receive regular updates on our work. Our centre is used by 300 people. 10 different LGBT groups meet regularly at the centre, in addition to our short courses and events.
