Act for Action is a social enterprise which exists to support disabled people. We offer social /interest clubs in our training centre in Prescot to help with socialisation and combat loneliness and promote health and wellbeing. We offer education, qualifications and will support people into supported employment within the arts. We have made it our mission to make the world more accessible and tolerant.
Why the community needs us
We want to give everyone the chance to contribute to their community and feel valued. We also want to raise disability awareness so that our society is more tolerant and understanding.. Our social clubs will give disabled young people and adults a meeting place where they can choose activities they are interested in, combatting loneliness and improving health and well being. Our supported employment programme will enable us to tap into the fantastic talent in the disabled community.
Our impact on the community
The result of our clubs will be improved health and wellbeing for our service users. Our supported employment programmer means we will train adults to with SEND offering qualifications I Performing Arts, employability and functional skills etc. We hope that they will eventually be the people who run our theatre in education company. In raising awareness we also hope other businesses will feel confident in welcoming interns and apprentices. Many of parents /carers join in the social clubs too and there is a fantastic feel on club nights.
